We dont know what the real story is. Loew does make a valid point when he says that Pavlik will have the same temptations in California as he did in Ohio. Loew may not be the best trainer but he's not responsible for Pavlik's issues outside the ring.
True, but he wants it both ways, presenting himself as more than a Trainer when he claims to have been a Father figure, while at the same time divorcing himself from decisions that he himself played a part in when they were made. He's your typical "We and You" Trainer, always has been. When it works it's "We" and when something doesn't then it's "You". Yes, there's alcohol out in California, but that's not why he didn't want Kelly out there.

Jack Loew = Bitter piece of shit. Never heard of him before Kelly Pavlik, will never hear of him after Kelly Pavlik. "Most miserable time of my life" my ass, who's he trying to kid????
Yeah the thing that bothered me the most was when he started attacking his Dad and the whole family - there is no call for that. I didn't think Pavlik really had a choice anyhow Top Rank pretty much gave him an ultimatum.

Just a bad story all around and some bitterness thrown in for good measure.

Yeah, Mike Pavlik is a good guy and he stuck with Loew even when a lot people wanted to see Kelly dump him. Loew can say what he wants about Kelly, and he's right that Kelly STILL doesn't get that he has a problem. but attacking the family like that was just wrong.
