Did you notice that Goddell awarded the next few Superbowls but interestingly enough didn't give any dates? What do you want to bet we see a 18 game season within a couple years (pusing back the date of those SB's). The players are dying with the new CBA and would welcome the extra income, even at the expense of their health.

Some of these vets are having to take huge paycuts to stay in the game (look at what the Raiders signed Woodson for, compared to what he was making). The new CBA and Salary Cap issues are killing the guys in their early 30's, has anyone signed John Abraham yet?

Are the ratings actually that good or just that they don't have to pay licensing fees to a major college body (NCAA) or a Professional League (NBA, etc.)?.

Look at how they promote X-Games. It's always "X-Games Barcelona" or wherever they happen to be, like it's a olympics that happens once every four years and not every week. It's a blatant appeal to taylor a so-called sport toward the younger generation, but your right that they're saps and simply can't see through it. Just like the Kardashians are really stars, if it's getting ratings then I'm not quite sure exactly why, but nobody ever went broke overestimating the american viewing public's intelligence.

Maybe cut a few cards out of the schedule, but boxing is a dependable preformer for them, registering consistent, if not spectatcular, ratings.
