BRINKLEY VS QUILLIN OFFICIAL – TICKETS ON SALE
March 24th, 2011. Reno — Don Chargin Productions, Golden Boy Promotions, and Let’s Get It On Promotions are pleased to officially announce the April 29th, super-middleweight fight between Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (23-0, 17 KOs Brooklyn, NY) and Jesse Brinkley (35-6, 22 KOs Yerington, NV). The fight will be televised nationally on Telefutura’s Solo Boxeo series as an early kickoff to Cinco De Mayo, and will take place at the Reno Events Center in downtown Reno. Brinkley vs. Quillin is also being sanctioned by the International Boxing Organization for the USBO title. The card is also being presented by PR Entertainment, The Silver Legacy resort/casino, and the Eldorado resort/casino.
Quillin, who signed a promotional deal with Golden Boy Promotions earlier this year, is coming off of an impressive 4th round KO over Dennis Sharpe on February 11th in Fairfield, CA. The Cuban born, Brooklyn raised prospect currently lives in Hollywood, CA and trains at the Wild Card gym.
Brinkley, who is coming off a spirited and gutsy performance against super-middleweight king, Lucian Bute last October, looks to once again position himself for a world title shot at 168 lbs. Brinkley is eager to return to his hometown area of Northern Nevada where he is an extraordinary draw.
The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds.
